Just reprocessed one of my shots from last year's trip over to Flinders Range NP (needed a break from NZ pics ;) ).

A well balanced image, great leading lines, horizon is straight and has a feel of endlessness but, all that aside, there is little to hold the eyes. I wonder what would be the result if you blended in a brooding skyline. Perhaps a gathering thunderhead and added a little more contrast to the image (levels/curves adjustment etc). Even a point of interest such as a fully laden truck strategically placed along the road, moving away from the viewer. Just a thought Leon.
The image does invoke a need for those wide open spaces and outback travel Leon
cheers

Great use of geometry Leon, but i am not too keen on the colour treatment. I think it would look better in over-saturated colours ;)

I like this Leon. The treatment, the subject, the composition. It really gives me a sense of the great expanse this country has to offer, and having driven through the middle of nowhere more times than I care to count it gives me a feeling of nostalgia as well, which the treatment really suits.

The emptiness really adds to this and I wouldn't change a thing, if there were a sign or car / truck I personally think it would really take away from the emotions this image gives me. I don't want to identify with anything in it other than it could have been a piece of road I'd driven on at one time.

Well done!

Wonderful - you have summed up my feelings towards this image exactly, and I am thrilled that others might see it in that light :) :) :)
