A big thanks, and the set is great.

I really like your creativity in compiling/capturing a solid variety of shots. You have images of emotion, objects, happy faces, and expression of concern. You have also captured lots of the important aspects of the event, which is invaluable to the organisers as they move to future events. This provides them with a very solid record of a successful evening, and will be benficial for future events, particularly when approaching corporate sponsors (they like to see proof that you can put a show togetther, and that you have a database of people who would attend).

A+ for captures.

Feedback on the pics, I noticed you made the most of available light, while I went the opposite. And I can see in the differnces, I like your lighting. Particuarly in that venue, with the sunset hours, it was harsh, but low. Some could use flash for fill, but generally good. (I on the other hand was struggling with an SB800 for the first time (different controls to an SB600), so I made lots of errors, but without those, I cant learn...

Thanks guys for your comments and encouragement. It's greatly appreciated. I'm really loving this camera - I knew I would, just had to persevere. There are still a couple of things I'm cursing Canon for doing (or not doing) but it's a solid camera. Nice and compact, perfect for capturing events and candid shots.

1, 3 and 4 look underexposed -0.3 on my monitor.

Does the 5D give ugly artifacts if you underexpose it in capturing and overexposing it in the raw development stages?

Not unless you do something dumb like take it at ISO3200 and underexpose it about a stop. I really pushed it to the limits the other night at the Espy while taking band gigs in a room where the stage was lit by halogen downlights (the lighting planner should be shot).
