more from the magical lagooned city of Venice
this is my best lighting job i waited just the right time when the sun was low, sun peered through part of the arch from the ducale palace and made the mood just stellar I balanced the other half with off camera flash
look at all the tourists doing the paparazzi thing
me and mum went to this famous venetian costume ball called il ballo del dodge but we couldn't take cameras so after it i gatecrashed another ball with my camera took this in the hall with the 85mm f1,4
there was a special masquarade ball each night it was nuts
here is another one of mum

Wow, even better then the last Wendell, your just showing off now, #1 with the moon lovely but even better IMO, is #3 soooo damn sexy, the bokeh the hair, the makeup.. lovely.
#4 is interesting but doesn't really enchant me.
#2 has some interesting elements, the bird in the skit, the building, the tourist with their P&S, and the cloth in the foreground..
#3 and #1 the standouts!

Wendell,
I love the colours, the glistening, in #2.
being in Venice though is cheating: I don't believe it's possible to take a lousy shot there, it's such a marvelous place.

More great images here Wendell. #3 really grabs me - nice tones and composition and great eye contact - it embodies the best of what you achieve in your fashion shoots. #1 has that quirkiness again - I like. #4 OTOH is TOO quirky for me I get the concept, but it doesn't quite work. Every time I look at the shot I think of your poor mother getting her dress wet and spoiled after going to all that trooble to create it. I also find the vignetting top left a distraction.

Wendell,
another great series. I really like the composition in #2, just a shame about the "papparazzi", ah well.
#1 is great light, well done for waiting for the right moment/light.
As Gary said, it's hard to take a lousy shot there, but you make those shots really standout.
Thanks for sharing, lovely photos.
Cheers,
André

Wendell, these are fantastic, you must have had a great time there. I am so envious, I have never been to Venice at Carnival time.

thankyou glen
carnivale is a centuries old tradition
and it really makes Venice the most magical city in the world
not only the carnivale but masquarade balls associated with the carnival
endless magical momments
thing is though everything is twice more expensive you know high tourist season so you better save your euro pennies
