While in NZ, I introduced Stubbsy to some local culture - and no, this had nothing to do with sheep :o

Speedway NZ style has a class called Stockcars - these cars are built for a combination of speed and strength, as they are allowed full contact hitting

Now, the major event on the annual calendar for Stockcars nationwide just happens to be held in my home town, in February. Guess who made sure our trip was timed to coincide with this? ;)

Introducing Stockcar Teams Racing - where there are 2 teams of 4 cars, with the winner being first across the line. Full contact.

...and the crowd gets a good, close view....

Yeah, pretty redneck - but I reckon you've gotta let your hair down every now and then ;) (and it keeps the sheep safe ;) )

So what did Stubbsy do ?

Nice shots, I'm not sure I'd be keen for front row seats and a place like this, surely the fence can't provide protection against any smaller pieces of debris.

I had some hair to let down Craig - several mm in fact

What Leon failed to mention is they watered the track down after every race but you still got covered in dust as they whizzed past after a few laps (good job I wear glasses). One reason I elected NOT to take my camera.
