a few night shots from saturday.

my strike rate hasn't got much better i must say. could be a few things. i think i pan better left to right, like i did at the test meet a week ago. this week was right to left because there were too many people on the other side, and big crowds kinda freak me out..

night is hard to get right. impossible not to underexpose. iso 800+ makes images useless at full size. 400-500 is the max i think.

Great work! Panning on a car moving 200MPH is not as easy as it looks :) Try down at the 400m mark :D

thanks mate.

'pommy' steve read was in 893. he ended up winning the meet on debut with his own team.

thanks, jeff.

your not wrong, it ain't the easiest, i blew so many potentially good shots, and some important ones too, because my panning sucked or focus was wrong, i'm not too sure, and i feel like crap for it, but i just have to put it down to inexperience and keep at it :)

Dont think like that,it is difficult to get into a good spot and the light is never good for Top Fuel cars as they have to run late.

Well done..I actually like all of them.....I haven't had the pleasure or is that the pain of trying to shoot top fuel yet since getting my DSLR..Keep up the nice work :D

cheers, jeff & dodge.

i think the hardest part is framing the bastard things when panning, and the D70 viewfinder is not the best.. also where to shoot from: closer means shorter focal, but a bloody wall blocking a car :x

up high means seeing over the wall, but 200mm means a bit more shake :x

as always, my 2cents :)

cheers.
