70-200VR:1/40th@200mm

Posting this as I learn to use my new VR, at slower shutter speeds.

When ambient light demands it (without pushing ISO too far), I am happy with getting 1/20th sec at 70mm, or this example, 1/40th sec at 200mm!!!

Oh, and the subjects, two well fed animals after Chritmas Lunch :D

Image PS: Point of focus was the dog collar (narrow DOF at 2.8, 200mm)

anyone have any tips on using VR=Normal, versus VR=Active?

vr normal compensates for hand holding - thats slight movement

vr 'active' compensates for strong jolting movements like when your on a bus
or on a boat

most of the time you would have the lens set to 'normal'
