Mosquito macro (2:1 magnification)

Greetings,

Another attempt at sharp eyes. Previous one here:

It was taken with Kenko 2X Teleplus PRO attached to the Micro Nikkor 105mm 2.8D and the SB800 (diffuser attched). As with any macro shot, getting good amount of DOF is really difficult even with very small apertures (f/29 in this case). To make things more difficult, the mosquito (this species=Culex) is an even smaller insect than a housefly.

And I bet you didn't know that some mosquitoes have green eyes. :)

Top photo, would have liked to have seen the bum in the shot as well but great pic all the same. :wink:
