Have been learning about studio lighting recently, and these are a continuation from my previous test shoot. These images were inspired from some fashion mags, trying to recreate the lighting. Thanks to the make-up artist and especially to the model - she's just 15 years old!

excellent work
the lighting is very clean and defines the models face well

good to see you used a background that compliments the styling too

hte hair creations are great i could easily imagine the potential of shooting that crazy hair, compliments to your hairdresser

Geoff you can see the lighting position from the reflection in the eyes but im sure theres much more involved than 1 light

Thanks everybody for the comments, glad you like them. Will pass on the compliments to the make-up artist/hair stylist.

Geoff,
For the first one, lighting was 1 big soft box right above the model, a small reflector below and a light for the background. Second shot was taken just with 1 big soft box as the model was standing right against the background.

Yi-P,
There are studios that you can rent out by the hour and the people that run them can put you in touch with a make-up artist. Fortunately, I have a close friend who is a make-up artist.

Both great images, I like No. 1 especially. Excellent tones and lighting. I'm sure lots of effort must have gone in in producing these.

nice shots there! for some reason, the 2nd shot made me think she was lying down..

as wendellt complimented you on- the choice of backgrounds goes well with the styling of the model.
