Got my Nikon 105 MicroVR yesterday. Here are a couple of shots, handheld. Both are 100% crops.

Aperture: f/19.0 ISO: 400 Focal Length: 105mm (157mm 35mm)
Exposure Time: 0.0055s (1/180)

I am leaving this morning for a two week trip riding dirtbikes from Cape York to Cairns so will post a couple of photos when I get back. I should be able to offer some comment on the 105 VR also.

Craig,

Congratulations on the new arrival.

I love that second image. I'm looking forward to seeing more results, and some further, detailed descriptions of this lens.

And have a safe trip.

How do you find the handling and VR/AFS of this lens in macro work-distances? I'd like to hear a first impression review from your side :)

Craig,

Not a clue, but I'm thinking a section of a concrete path.

I am looking to get the 105 VR for my d70s in the next week or two, I am really interested to see what eventuates.

And, I think that the photo looks like the underside of something that is either preiodically coated or igneous... a small stone mudguard?

Now that Iam back from my holiday and catching up, here is the answer to the question: What is image number two?

The rear tyre of my motorcycle, the diagonal slash is a tread groove. The tire had just done an afternoons training out on the track. :) :)

Regards
Craig
