Ok... in the last two parts it was all the new sigma 10-20... Well I got out old faithfull (sigma 70-200) for some tele-panning action:

This one was taken at 200mm... I used the flash to fill and it came out a little overexposed, but I am happy with the effect...

Nice stuff MHD :) Did you do a handheld pan or use a monopod? Out of the 3 I prefer the first one as it tells more of a story about how gruelling the endurance races can be.

I like the first as well. excellent pan and action. it's interesting he is actually looking where to put his bottle it's something that becomes automatic after a while.

Nice bike too - I think those forks are rock-shox world-cup at over $1,000 per set...

These are quite hard to capture as the brown / red dust has a tendency to lean toward purple if you don't get the exposure right / PP without care. I've had shots printed that came back with purple roads and the lab swearing that's how it was!

I've looked at all your posts on this and as a keen MTBer (well, until photography took over this year) one of my goals was always to go solo in a 24 hour... trading one expensive hobby for another

Probably not this year...

Thanks!
Hand held pans... Left my pod at home otherwise I probably would have used it...

Justin: Using fill flash helped heaps with the exposure, otherwise the dust/ground would have really reduced the contrast...

I also like the first one

I also like the first one because the subject is quite sharp and has more colour than the last one, I think.

Thats a nice pic of "spoonboy" ;) named for his repair of his congealed soot (carbon fibre) frame with a spoon at a race earlier this year.

I too was at the 24hr, first time not racing due to my crash 7 weeks ago, but I did take several hundred pics, some of which I may get around to posting later.
