They say that "the devil is in the details". Bah! Rubbish! I love detail shots. What was that Henry Miller quote...

The moment one give close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

Of course, that controversial, intellectual character, Susan Sontag, also said (either oppositely or appositely...

Life is not significant details, illuminated by a flash, fixed forever. Photographs are.

Anyway, putting aside my own wankery, these are great photos. I have no critique to offer other than "I wish I'd taken them". Thanks for sharing them.

Yep,

Lovely Vince, lovely as usual. If I had to be incredibly picky, I would like just a little bit more DOF on the second.

Both images was captured by my fav 50mm f1.4 :wink:
