And of course, what photo meet would be complete without a couple of photos of members chimping, assuming The Photographers' Stance, and generally being geese.

Apologies to half the group, who I barely had time to chat with. Unfortunately we were split up into two groups.. The less fit or more lazy (I qualify in both counts!) took the railcar down, and the steam train back up. A few of us decided to do it via bushwalk, and it was a miracle that the group that I dubbed "The Blair Witch Boys" made it back literally just in time for the now obligatory group photos.

Great to see so many happy faces, and it certainly looks as if a great time was had by all.

Many thanx to Sheepie for all his work in getting this organised; well done, Leon.

Good bunch of shot Des. #2 is a classic. Leon looks very pleased with himself.

We were stuffing around with the flashes while we waited for the rest of the group (the walkers) to get back. Shows how good the metering is - this was a quick snap, solely relying on the camera and flashes to do their thing. Pity about the subject, but we didn't have too many takers ;)

I could have sworn I posted it, but can't even find the shot on my SmugMug site. I'll put it up tonight.

is that one without flash peter? or is there some pp trickery there? It looks a hell of a lot better than it did on the camera!

Great shot, Peter! :)

Yeah, I really should have PPed mine a bit, but I'm too lazy ;)

Beautiful setting - I think it just works! You should post it up in a thread of its own.

Well it was PP'd by me , so yes there's trickery. There was flash though - just the SB800 on the camera. The shots with flash at the side had great big pools of light.

Here's the un pp'd version:
