desert skink

After the campsite was flooded Michael found this Skink hiding and put it on a tree ... we all soon had the poor thing surrounded with Macro's while we waited for bedding to dry out.
this pic gives you some idea of its size ...

It is Egernia inornata - yep - the desert skink

, and only gets to around 84mm from snout to vent (poo hole
LOL). Did you guys go looking for the burrows of this beautiful little bugger?

Shane that is a great pic of the skink, although they still scare me lizards unless i see there feet.LOL hahaha can you imagine that a big bloke who would jump when first seeing lizards. They remind me of snakes and the only good 1 is a dead 1.
