desert skink

After the campsite was flooded Michael found this Skink hiding and put it on a tree ... we all soon had the poor thing surrounded with Macro's while we waited for bedding to dry out.

Shane - what great shots (you bastards !!!! ;) )
It is Egernia inornata - yep - the desert skink :), and only gets to around 84mm from snout to vent (poo hole LOL). Did you guys go looking for the burrows of this beautiful little bugger?

Shane that is a great pic of the skink, although they still scare me lizards unless i see there feet.LOL hahaha can you imagine that a big bloke who would jump when first seeing lizards. They remind me of snakes and the only good 1 is a dead 1.
