Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Sculpted by natureThese are the first of my images from the Stockton Dunes outing. These all feature the random sand patterns created by wind and time.

About time!!!
OK - I really like the first, and have to say it is vastly superior to the version I took on your suggestion. The second looks to me like a series of belly buttons - not sure what that says about my thought processes ![]() The third seems to have lost a lot of clarity in processing, even on the original version on smugmug. It's an interesting take on a bit of sand I'm sure I've seen somewhere before ![]() Looking forward to seeing your take on others from the weekend Peter - don't let the fact you have a life, and therefore are only just starting to go through them, put you off posting ![]() *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
like 1, simple and effective.
well done. check out my image gallery @

I like the third - the ripples becoming indistinct into the background, with the circular mound/hill of sand to draw your eyes to and the waves in the background. For mine, I'd like just a little more foreground on that picture, though.
