Who can walk past the wonders of the natural world and a colourful plant is always a suck in. A couple here that I found whilst wandering around the local botanical gardens. All natural light.
The Bromeliad was deep in a shadehouse and I was fascinated by the mercurial highlights in the centre as well as the tiny bloom there.

These tiny drops of rain were nestling on top of the moss and I really had to get my knees wet to handhold this one okay. The highlights are blown, I guess due to the sun reflecting in the water and being magnified by the shape.

On the way to the car, I came across this example of nature taking its time and moving right along. An old stump almost completely covered by this huge fig and even over the fence post too.

All help & comments welcome please?

I was thinking exactly that.

Whatever - the contrast between the colours of the smaller plants and leaves and the monochromatic hue of the tree trunk makes for a spectacular image.

I like it a lot. :D

Actually, I didn't desaturate anything. It was a grey tree on a grey stump wrapped around a grey fencepost! What I did on the tree shot was darken the levels selectively around the edges as it was a grey day too and the light was flat and glarey..
Thanks for the comments on the others too folks. When I get the chance, I do like to get down and get close.

Very nice, bigger versions would defiantly have some presence. Last one would be good for a poster print.
