I am currently playing around with my film slr trying to learn as much as i can b4 i get my digital body. Had a play with some portriats today. these were shot with eos 3000n 28-80 3.5-5.6 kit lens and onboard flash. Some tips on poses and composition for these types of shots would be appreciated. Again, scanned images and paint borders  Have more coming
cheers

Im no film expert, but the film you used had some blue-ish cast on her face. The composition and lighting is good, but just that the tones are a bit too flat and cold.

Forgot to mention, she has beautiful eyes. :)

I quite like the comp on the first shot. the background lets it down though.
perhaps a lighter background would allow for a nicer separation between subject and background.
the pose works but maybe works better using a tree or similar, even using the diffused light coming in thru a window can produce a pleasing portrait.

she has lovely eyes too.
