Nice colours and reflections.
I would have liked to see the same shot without the tree trunk in the foreground. Maybe just a few branches/leaves peeping into the frame.

Yes, cropping to a portrait format is worth a try. Getting closer would have had me swimming!

great lighting.
tree spoils it for me. but as you have said, nothing could be done about it.

Of course, I could have chosen a different vantage point. However, at about the time this was being taken (about 8pm on Friday night) somebody was being mugged just up the river a bit, and hospitalised (as I read in the paper next morning). I had my 6 foot teenage son with me, but I wasn't going to hang around.

I actually don't mind the tree in the original shot
