Off the beaten track

Actually, off anything that remotely resembles a track, a real bush bash.

This was taken on a walk we did on the Overland Track in Tassie. We didn't do the whole track, went in via the Arm River track to Pelion then north to Frog Flats. Camped there, bush bashed our way up the hill towards Leonards Tarn but didn't get that far.
This was on the way up the hill.
10 second exposure, F29, 36mm.
D70 and 18-200VR lens. Tripod mounted, VR turned off.

What do you think - just another waterfall?

Then on the Overland track, just south of Frog Flats on the way out again...

10 second, F25, 31mm D70 and 18-200VR.

Typical of what you'd see when doing the track. (or the bits of it that I've seen anyway) Nicest water you could drink, too.
Hope you like.

first one would have been nicer without the dead limb in the middle of the falls... very nice capture otherwise.

second pic is also very good but not as nice as the first one could have been.

You got the light just right :-)

Hi Adam,

very nicely exposed and DOF on both shots. Without the limb in there, the first one would be top notch, imho, so I'll have to go with the second, also a very nice one.

Great part of Tassie the OT

cheers,

André

Like the 2nd one best.
The lighting in both of these is really nice. :)

Well isn't that interesting, I thought the branch made an interesting feature, not that a waterfall needs a feature I suppose.
I did take a number of angles.
The DOF in the one I have without the branch is wrong, plus there is another tree in the way.

Here's another

I do prefer the second version. The branch doesn't block as much of the waterfall and the one on the right combine to make a bit of frame around it, but certainly better.

thanks for sharing,

André

Mate, I have to agree with the other posters. Beautiful light and waterfall capture in #1, but IMHO it doesnt need the dead branch.

Have to agree about the branch, to me it is a distraction. Love the moss, dont get much of that here in QLD.

Fantastic shots...

This type of photo is probably my fave type of 'landscape' shot. So tranquil and peaceful looking.

I agree about the dead branches. Other than that though.... Very Nice :)
