Not certain I like this capture......I did not overly enhance the colors, as a matter of fact saturation had "0" adjustment, can only attribute to the ND filters and thick cloud cover at early morning before sunrise and side lighting from the pool

The blue gives the capture an "icy" cold feel to the image in my opinion.

Camera was on manual matrix metered

It does look like ice but I don't think it was that cold in Sydney this morning. Nicely exposed, given you had to deal with the light over the pool.

Paul you must be the expert on this little geographical location. I think they may have to rename it to 'Lostdingo Point'

I like the shot but something just doesn't sit well. It certainly isn't an image, like others you have posted that smakcs you straight in the eyes and says look and marvel at this scene.

Having said that there is a delightful tension created between the deep blue of the horizon and left side of the image, which I agree gives it a certain cold feeling, and the warmth proffered by the golden light of the lower right side of the image and it is beautifully exposed.

I wonder if cropping the bottom of the image so that the lower right corner roughly meets the lower right edge of the baths, creating somewhat of a sort of pano, would improve the composition? I find that there is too much empty space at the bottom of the frame that does mot really add anything to the quality of the shot. It then allows the warmly lit wall to gently take ones eyes out to the colder horizon. Hope this makes sense Paul.

Not sure that I fully understand in what aspect you suggest to crop but feel free to cut and chop to maybe provide visually what your thinking is

I still have if I like this image as to the color...now you have me thinking of the composition Now I know I won't sleep tonight and I'll have to pay another visit to this locale

hmmm...interesting....I need to get rid of the D2x.....wants to be an "s" and trade up to the 39 megapixel Hassy....square format...that's what I need

Appreciate your suggestions Marco....we'll have to get together one day when I pay my Brother-in Law a visit in Cairns ...just no crocs in the ditches please

The oppsing blue and golden colors creates a terrific tonal feel to the image, must admit I like Marco's tight crop, the wet sand seems to be too strong...

Paul - I hate to buck the trend, but oddly for me, this is just too blue. I'd like a more steely grey look to it.

Don't change it! It's perfect! Lovely play of warm colours against cool colours. A textbook example.

I like this tone and colour too! perfectly nice capture of the day.
