Captured this grey fantail on the prowl hunting for insects, captured him jumping off the water reeds to grab a spider hanging off the flower pod right infront of his beak

Lots of bird shots lately.

This one seems to disappear into the reeds a little bit, I find it very hard to see his beak. I like the way his wings are faned out.

Some lovely images here Tim. IMO #1 is a little busy in the background to be effective though I can appreciate your timing on this one. I like #2 very sharp would have been excellent if the thing posed for you and looked at the camera. I really like the cormorant shot, lovely sharp (getting close to oversharpened here though) and well exposed capture. What lens set up Tim?
cheers

Using Sigma 70-200 with 2x teleconvertor.. cormorant looks over sharpened due to wet feathers.. they have a wet sheen on them a bit too..
thanks for the comments Marco

the cormorant thingy is a darter. they have pointy beaks without the little hooked job that cormorants have.
background fairly busy on the first.
2nd shot probably too front on and head down to show the bird effectively.
shame too cos it is really sharp.

Hey Tim - you are really giving that TC a hell of a workout boy !!!!!
I do like the second - but I think may be better with the 'space' below the bird - giving it something to look into ... but just my opinion
More please
