Geez - dare I say, what's right with it?
To me it's just a mishmash of manipulations that just don't work in a combined overall fashion. The colours seem to clash and I can't work out where the centre of attention should be. Sorry Chris - this one is very hard to categorise. Doesn't do a thing for me.

(That being said, it's very reminiscient of the sort of things I use to come up when I first started playing around with Photoshop...)

If you were trying to recreate a landscape shot as naturally as possible, I would be worried.

If you are going for an arty-farty effect, it has worked well (in a strange kinda way). Yeah, very surreal and animated and the simple fact that I spent ages looking at it with mixed opinions, means its worth the effort.

Yeah, I'll give you a thumbs up for trying to go 'outside-the-square'.

Nothing wrong with it. The best image I've seen here in a long time. Maybe it's just me being weird, but this is right up my alley.

I hate it though because it illustrates the very essence of what I'm able to appreciate but unable to create... There you go.

If you sell prints I'll buy one.

Looked at it last night after few good reds after carton of Beck + very nice company with all my three friends from the US, they were all raged about this photos, they asked me: "how's zat can be done?". My other half wanted a print copy so she can hang it on the wall.

Looking at it again this morning, still no finding of the answer for my buddies, perhaps I have to ask you about its secret personally.

Very interesting Chris. Reminds me of a Beatles acid trip without the yellow submarine. I do like it though.

Very trippy Chris... I'd be very interested to hear how this was constructed... The light on the plane doesn't match the setting / rising sun, but that would be nitpicking

The lurid green of the tress throws me off. It almost looks like you've used an MS paint spray can effect to paint on the green - apologies if you've actually used a 27 step PS action to create the effect

I much prefer the image as a pano crop, getting rid of all the foreground and just leaving the sky and horizon with half the frame each. To me it feels much better balanced that way.

It's very hard to look at this image out of the context of what you were trying to achieve with it. I'd love to hear what the point of it was, form your point of view, if you'd care to divulge.

This image has certainly created a swinging pendulum

Having been housebound for over 2 weeks with a dodgy leg, I decided that I was going just a little stir crazy.

So I decided to take one of my old scanned slides and do something with it. The whole process was just an exercise for me in boredom.

NIK effects filters were used to create the sky and green trees. Layers were used for the sun, sun halo, sun on the land and the plane (you are right John!). The image was reversed and, of course, the bloody great tree removed as can be seen from the original shot below.

I will have to get that Zimmer working for the sake of photography and sanity

Well, my friend, I hope you had a lot of fun creating it and that it was at least moderately therapeutic for you during your enforced confinement.
Now that I know what you were up to, it all makes strange sense...
