After a bit of a delay, I've finally finished the PP on my images from the weekend.

A big thanks to Gary and Thanh for organising the meet, it was a good opportunity to catch up with people and meet some new faces.

I went for a bit of a walk around with Alpha_7 in some really pleasant afternoon light. Here's a couple of images for critique.

The rest of the set are here

Good bold colours in #2 and #3.

#3 is best - nice feeling of movement and perspective

#2 for me, then #3 :) It's interesting how fresh and new some familiar things can seem when seen from a different perspective.

Daniel

Odd how we all perceive things. I like #3 the least since the blurry bottom really distracts me because it's neither sharp nor blurry enough to look like a panning shot. For me #1 is the best. I like the composition and the image tones.

Daniel,

The panning shot is good, but as Peter has said it would look better if you blurred it abit moore.

I like your second photo as well.

Nice work Daniel,

#1 I really like the colour and the composition with this one works well

#2 Well worth looking a bit odd to take the shot, it came out better then I'd have imagined. The different perspective makes this shot, I wonder if a little fill flash may have brought out the tumbalong park a little more (then again, maybe it doesn't need it).

#3 The monorail came out sharp as (impressive) but to a point I agree that it could of been if the bottom was blurred more

#4 The flower bed right next to the tumbalong park (right?) Nice find, it is a little plain but thats more the flowers fault then yours ;)

Thanks again for touring Darling Harbour with me, I enjoyed your company!

Nice shots! Can't add anything new to the comments. I like #1 first, then #3.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I found the panning with the kit at 18mm is a bit harder than with a tele. I you pan for too long, it starts to perspective distort (bit of a wacky WA effect happing in the BG).

I didn't really expect the pan to really turn out at all, it was just a bit of mucking around while we were waiting for Stubbsy

The only other pan that turned out is this one. I think it's blurred across the whole frame instead and it doesn't appear to be as sharp as the first.
