Wow, colours are incredible! Much PP? Love the first one in particular; the contrast between the dark sky and the golden field is just fantastic.
Cheers,

two great shots.

well done.

I also am interested in what was done PP wise to these shots, or is this just a case of how it was.

Brilliant colours Big V :)
#1 The contrast created between sky and field really is eyecatching. For me the colour of the sky is a little too dark and unrealistic, and I know that may have been the effect you were after (a little too oversaturated..hmm... can't make up my mind). The golden glow on the fields really make this shot though I would be tempted to clone out the lower left tractor wheel(?) as it is a little distracting.
#2 Colours still vibrant and more realistic though I would have been tempted to lighten the foreground fields and hills a little, they seem a tad too dark. I would also suggest a tighter crop on the bottom of the frame and make the bottom of the frame the yellow stubble and remove the nothingness of the green patchy field in the immediate foreground, I don't think it adds to the overall image. I'm also not sure if the middle ground isn't a little too cluttered.
I'd like to add that I'm being very picky here Big V commensurate with your ability as a photog. I still think the images are terrific but that probably wouldn't tell you too much on it's own  Hope this makes sense :)
cheers

This is how the light was.. Truly spectacular. All I have done is nudged the levels slightly to compensate for the slight over exposure when metering..

Incredible light, and well captured :) #1 is the pick of the two, although I'm tempted to suggest a slightly tighter crop top and bottom, and a bit off the left, to avoid the foreground fence (?).

The second one I like, but it is not quite as effective. What I especially like about this style of shot is the way it shows the size of the clouds relative to common features on the ground (power poles, etc.).

And it was taken with a canon!?! What's the world coming to? :) I keep coming back to this shot, the lighting, composition and (limited) PP is excellent. BigV out of curiosity, what lens did u use with for this shot?

#1 is definitely a great capture. I love the tones in the sky in #2, but the classic simplicity in #1 keeps drawing me back.
So join in the chorus, and sing it one and all!

The second one is great. The first one is spectacular. I've never seen a scene like that. Where did you get that huge black back-drop for the hill? :D

Cheers

Thank you all for the kind words and constructive advice. I am lucky that at this time of the year the area I live in has many dramatic stormy scenes. When the sun is setting and there are breaks in the cloud, the hills come alive and sometimes you get that deep dark sky in the east as a result!!
