The blowhole at Bicheno was working well on the weekend.
80-400VR at 80 mm. A very versatile lens.

Thanks Daniel and Craig for the comments.
The timing is fairly straight forward Craig.
Shutter half pressed, focus locked and you get about a half second to time the capture.
About 30 shots and a few are keepers.

Thanks Peter.
Know to find some time to PP some of the other images. I got about 250 from the weekend at Bicheno.
And I'm also trying to find the time to get my better 2005 images ready for a Memento Book.
Cheers

Wow, from someone who has never seen one before, from your image I can imagine the sense of sound and power... i love it, am wondering if there are any blowholes in Melbounre?
Cheers

Mak, probably not in Melbourne itself, but I reckon there should be some down the coast. Maybe along the Great Ocean Road. I just checked and the 1:25000 map of Bicheno has the blowhole marked on it. So the chances are there is something similar available in Victoria.
This was the best I've seen this blowhole working. The swell was about 2 metres at the time. A few weeks ago we had a 7 - 9 metre swell around Tasmania and 2 Italian tourists nearly got washed away at this blowhole.
Pleased you like the shot.
Cheers
