4 different styles at the beach (4 images)

This weekend I have been testing out a few different processing styles on some shots i took at the beach the other day. I would be interested to hear if you think they work or not.
Thanks
WW
Shot 1 - High contrast with colour
This grass was winding its way down this sand dune and stood out to me. This was an exercise in contrast between the grass and the sand and I have tried to highlight the subject (line of grass) in the sand by getting it to pop? Not sure if this is too over the top or not? Considered black and white but the colour version was a bigger challenge and was "different".

Shot 2 - Half and half
Moving away from using the thirds rule here I decided to crop the image so there was deliniation between the sand and the water at about the half way. Also boosted yellow saturation to make the sand bolder and brighter (less dull).

Shot 3 - The diagonal
The tide had gone out early one morning leaving behind this interesting pattern. Early morning light for this shot produced a strong shadow at the high water mark. An exercise in different textures. I have a number of different versions from this series but i liked this one because of the strong diagonal ellement.

Shot 4 - Playing with colour to suit mood
This poor puffer fish had been discarded by a fisherman who obviously didnt land his target species. Wanted to portray its sad plight and cooled the image using mixture of colour balance and selective saturations.
