Some birds

Still getting the hang of bird photos.

From O'Reilly's a few weeks back. 70-200 2.8. After morning tea I fitted the 400 but there were no birds to be found!

The problem with birds is where they live. The fussy and rather light backgrounds in these slightly confuse the images. For me the second is by far the best. :D

Thanks John.

They were taken in the bird-feeding free-for-all area, so it was very hit and miss.

Even had one cheeky bugger land on my 70-200 !

NIce shots Dion but agree with John about the backgrounds. Having said that though... I've been up there many times (last one was with Finch) and there's not much you can do to improve matters. Not even the venerable 200-400VR that we were shooting with that day could fix the clutter!

agree that the second is the nicest.

last king parrot suffers from the bright stuff behind.

the light is kinda harsh in these too.

the early morning and late arvo sunlight is the sweetest for bird shots.

Birds being birds go where they want and that makes it a matter of patience and frustration to get the ones with the best backgrounds.
