I gather that you took these shots while seated, from a low position. They are very good images but I think a couple of changes could improve them a little...Try and shoot level or straight on for most of the shots and try and get the girls to look at you. Eye contact increase the visual tension. Good job!

Thanks, Matt. You are right, I was just at the end of the runway, most of the time and I was sitting just under the runway because there were seats behind me so I could not stand, otherwise I'd block the view of others. Thanks for the suggestions.

G'day mate,

I've seen the fashion stuff you've posted and you seem to be really getting the hang of the angles and stuff...

The lower angles seem to suit more of the top half portrait sort of thing, whereas the longer body shots seem to need to be at their level... Just rambling...

No real critique mate, just encouragement :D

Considering the conditions (rain, lighting, models not looking...) the pics are pretty good.

My pic is the third one...tho her face seems a bit overexposed.

Alex I like the exposures on 2, 4,5 and 7. The others look a little over exposed. I think 5 is a cracker. The exposure is great, it's sharp and the top half body shot works from the low angle. WB looks great although I'm guessing you didn't have the big tungsten lights to contend with.

Saw something at the fashion show the other night. Two of the photogs had short ladders with them. They were those little 3 step ladders. They were standing on the top step and that put them eye level with the models on the runway. Maybe that's the go. The other thing they did was get there about an hour before the parade started, got set up on their ladders etc and so it was obvious to the crowd that being behind them would not give a good view. The other thing was that there were no seats set up at the end of the runway, so the crowd was not inclined to be where their view would be obscured.

Cheers
John
