Italian "Broad Band".....Jazz

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I like the first one, the fourth one (with the trumpet behind the saxophonist) and the last one.

I'd probably suggest to pull down some of the highlight near the top of the last one, but it's not a major issue regardless.

If you were to also pull the size down a little I think it would make it alot easier to view. Its really hard to critique an image for what its worth when you can only view sections of it at a time whilst scrolling along.

Never argue with a fool. They will drag you down to there level, then beat you with experience.

Fab.

I'm with Brad on this - even on my large monitor it's near impossible to see all of the image. <moderator hat on> You do know images should be no larger on the longest side than 800 px and these look suspicously like 1024 -
see the FAQ  <moderator hat off>

As scary as it sounds, like Leigh, I like the 4th shot and the last shot best. #1 is way too busy and I keep focussing on the clearway sign

Fab,

I was holding off with the CC of these, as I just found it hard, I didn't realise it at the time but it was due to the size, now that they are smaller its much easier to view and comprehend.

#3 #4 and #6 are my pick of the bunch.

#1 is a little too cluttered with nothing as the central feature of the shot, my eye wanders from the clearway sign to the towel.. then I notice the musicians

#2 for me this shot is to soft, had it been sharper or maybe a different crop it may of been better IMO

#5 is a interesting one... I kind of like the idea.. not sure how to better this shot maybe a little more DOF ?

Many Thanks!

I should give a name to all pics, peraps it is my way to see the pictures that doesn't work for all...
I'll try to explain now:

#1- Represents the music/noise from the band, because they where doing "Jazz improvvisation" without music roules, for many it is just noise for more is Music and you get it "the towel to wipe out..... is for "many" (but not for you)

#2- I think is soft too, and maybe is out of focus. I tried to sharp more but....

#5- I call "Hear and play" ..... ear and hand, in between the player!

My D2X's Bandig ?

Now, gotcha...
