Bad weather and my new 10-20mm Sigma lens

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Bad weather and my new 10-20mm Sigma lens

Postby shinwood on Wed Apr 05, 2006 4:55 pm

Went out the other morning to grab some nice sunrise shots....didn't happen.

But with my trust 10-20mm Sigma lense and photoshop I managed a couple of decent shots.

Image

I know.....it's a little bendy, but I like it.

especially like the colours in the second one.

Both suffer from blown hightlights.
perhaps you could clone some cloud over the hot sky in #2 for a winner

well the early rise was worth it.

ditto the blown highlights, but i dont feels its a big thing given the composition.

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

I really like the extra perspective of the fist image. The bottom vignetting seems to emphasize the shape of the pool (of water.) The perspective exagerates it even more. B&W just adds some nice contrast as well. In a nutshell, i really like it.

I agree with the other Steve #1 is a stunner. The composition and vignetting around the bottom draw the eye away from the blown bits

Well done

I love the perspective and angles of number 1 - well done.
I'm very jealous - I'm yet to use my new 10-20 in anger, as my d70 went into Maxwell's yesterday to repair the flashing green light syndrome. I'm looking forward to creating images like this when I get it back.
