Hi guys. No camera, broken hand, so i'm going through some old images, i don't think i've posted this one before.

i'm becoming quite efficient at using the mouse left-handed, but my typing leaves a lot to be desired.

anyway, here's the image - i'd love to hear what you think

Owen I like the image. The golden glow on the grassheads hold the foreground interest and despite the element heaviness on the right side of the image the image as a whole is quite balanced. I suspect the winding river with its expanse of blue balances and complements the empty expanse of blue sky in the top left. Colours are glorious. Overall a very pleasant image. :)
cheers

That's a nice landscape with some glorious colours. Go back there when the conditions are similar and shoot some portraits, picnics, straw hats etc and use the landscape as a background for something creative. You will end up with some fine pics.

Thanks gentlemen. It's actually down near Mt Selwyn so I don't see myself going back anytime soon ;)

Thanks for looking :)

I love it.

However if it were my image I would crop it at the bottom slightly so you mainly catch the top of the grass heads.

but it liks the photo.

I agree with Matt. That's a beautiful spot and hopefully near where you live too. Great exposure. Very nice image. Great work. I like this one heaps.

I hope your hand repairs itself in quick time. I can only imagine what life would be like without one's right hand. And i just thought only now, that cameras are all righthanded. :)

Thanks again for the comments. It is a place I would love to go back to, but it won't be for a long time I'm sure.

The hand injury was a result of my own stupidity. Playing basketball and getting caught up in the heat of the game - and also playing crap - I ended up punching a wall.

So I was at casualty for 4 hours last night, then travelled an hour and a half by train to wait 4 hours in another hospital today only to have my cast re-done. They thought i might need a pin in it, but today said to wait and see how it heals over the next week. Not fun, I learned my lesson! :?

What were you aiming for? I'd recommend you sticking with basketball and not taking up boxing... :P

Love the photo btw. Fantastic colour and light and a very pleasing composition.

Or practise your left-hand jabs. :) Walls usually keep the strong hand in focus and tend to ignore the left. You can catch them out with a good LH jab.

I was aiming for pretty much anything that didn't have two legs, a stripey shirt and a whistle. Next time I'll just bottle it all up inside, I've heard that's a healthy way to deal with it. ;) :)

Thanks for the comments guys. Life with one hand is getting easier, plus I found a use for that annoying windows feature - StickyKeys.

Cheers
Owen
