Kid picThis was taken last month at a weekend away with friends (and their kids). I positioned myself to get the smile at the end of the slippery dip, and got the electric hair as a bonus.
![]() Question - would you crop it closer or keep the slippery dip detail? Canon EOS 350D Tamron 18-200mm
Just what do you think you're doing Dave?
Suzanne
A good pic and I'd leave it as is since the top of the pic gives context - otherwise we just have a girl sitting in a pipe Peter

Love this pic. Any chance of rescuing some of the blown highlights? I would like to see a square crop just around the cirlce of the slippery dip.
Edit: just looking on the proper computer the highlights don't look quite as bad. Last edited by macka on Mon Apr 03, 2006 9:30 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Mmm two different opinions already. Stubbsy that was my reason for leaving as is, for the context.
Macka, no PP to this photo except to tighten the crop. I could have a play and see if I can improve. Canon EOS 350D Tamron 18-200mm

At the end of the day the choice should always be what YOU feel works best. Photography, like all art, is a very subjective craft - you'll always get diverse opinions (hell some people even like country & western music - go figure ![]() Peter

i've got some photos of my young un on a swing set, the ones where i used the on board flash to fill the shadows are so much better than the non flash ones its really amazing.
The only thing ruining the shot in my opinion is the blown out highlights. Good spontaneous portraits are the hardest thing I can think off and rely a lot on luck. Simon
www.colberne.com.au I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"
