Yes, I had another self portrait photo shoot last night.

The first shot is just to show you how frustrated models can get with lack of direction from the photographer


And then the next two are a before and after.. First time Ive used the dodge and burn tools (It was very trial and error,) please give me feedback particularly on the treatment/PP .. since I'm sure we are all sick of the subject

I like the first one more there is more of a narrative the others just show that classic James Dean face but hint nothing more

put yor dodge and burn tools to good use on the first and that would be your definitive portrait

great to see you revisiting that's the mark of a pefectionist!

you look very frustrated in the first one

just be careful you don't spend too much time in front of the lens...

I don't mind the second two (prefer B&W to Sepia), but I think I liked the composition from take 2 better. It bothers me that your chin is cut off.

Macka - I agree I don't like my chin missing, but the upside is my double chin is missing too - The difficult in these self portraits have been compsing the shot, I just sort of do lots of poses in various spots, sometimes I am in the frame sometimes only half or 1/3 in the frame. If I had a model, rather then myself, I'm sure the composition would be better

Mark - I may look frustrated but I was just playing to the camera... plus I was tired as, hence the bag beneather the eyes etc..

 BTW the second shot isn't sepia, its the shots straight from the camera. The lighting in the room wasn't very glamourous.

I know exactly how frustrating this is mate - you want subjects, don't have them, and therefore get in front of the lens yourself. I find it so difficult trying to pose, light, take the shot, check, recompose etc..

Funny you should like the treatment, its a blend of a black and white and the raw version, which I thought achieved a similar treatment to your 'Patent Pending' Rokkstar De stat look

I've definitely been enjoying myself, but I think I'll give the Self Portraits a rest for a little while now, so I don't strain the relationship

I think #2 had potential, but is cropped too tightly. While I can handle not seeing your hair, I'd have liked to have seen a bit of neck.
