catchy topic eh ;) probably not what you expected to see, but since I was at Katoomba on Saturday morning I thought I'd check out the view.

Panorama made from 6 X 85mm - the new (for me) 2nd hand 85mm f/1.4 picked up in Sydney on Friday:

With the 20mm Sigma I made a 6 frame wide (in portrait) pano looking south over the tallest sister:

On Sunday on the way home from mountain biking around Oberon I stopped for a 9 frame wide pano of the Capertee Valley with the 85mm in spitting rain:

The second pano is fantastic. I think you've proved that the blue mountains look best in widescreen :)

Love the Capertee Valley!

Up until a few months ago I used to cover that area for work, apparently it's one of the largest canyons in the world. Great area for photogs, as you've proven.

I also used to work at Katoomba, and your shots are great. That first pano over the sisters would make a great poster or framed print.

Wel done!!!!!

Beautiful stuff #2 and #3 are my favourites, but they are all nice shots!
(If you don't mind me asking) how much did the 85mm set you back ?
(No, bad lust, Naughty!) :)
Great shots Gordon!

on ebay, $1083. It is in excellent condition, I'll have to buy a hood for it though. The seller reckons he was getting out of film and into digital so he didnt need fast lenses any more! That doesnt make sense to me :?
He had a whole stack of other Nikon gear for sale, including a very nice 28mm f/1.4... but since I have a 30mm f/1.4 I avoided the temptation ;)
