This is another image of elle that I was playing with today and thought I'd ask for a few comments and some critique.

Hi Michael. I think the B&W conversion is good, there are nice tones in it. The thing I find distracting is that as you move down her face you get more out of focus, but if you look at her forehead that is nice and sharp. Perhaps you could have either changed your focus point to make the mouth in focus as well, or even increased your depth of field to get the whole head in focus.

Just my opinion though, it's a nice portrait compositionally.

The point of focus was on the bridge of her nose, I think I'll have to do a bit more practice with the 50mm. aperture was f4.5 too.

IT's weird, I took a shot at f11 of one flower on top of another, and the one behind was completely out of focus... I thought f11 should have covered it but obviously not.

Look forward to seeing more of your shots mate.

Owen.

The bump in her nose does her no favours. Photograph her directly from the front with around 85mm of focal length and it will improve her features.

Thats not actually a bump, It's a bit of light I forgot to burn out.

I've made enough mistakes in this photo to teach me lessons for any other portrait I ever do :P
