Hi All, well after seeing so many shots on here and tonight was my lucky nite. Storm hit Adelaide this arvo so i thought we might see some of it down here and well we did, it came in rather quick after a very hot day and let rip, thunder that went for minutes and well i set the D70 on shutter Pri
mode, lens to infinity and on the tripod and was on my back porch as the rain was not coming in too much i was lucky to grab this shot which i did a bit PP work and cropped it, anyhow i am happy with it.
Cheers
John

Great shot.

You're one up on me. I still have not managed to capture a decent lightning shot.

very nice shot John. get Trevor to hang yours up and we might have to start taking some of Ralphs down to make room

Nice capture.
I am now of the opinion that any lightning shot is a good lightning shoot.
They are so unpredictable and until you try, you don't realise how difficult it can be.
I know a lot of members are getting a bit tired of seeing them but I would be happy to say keep posting those lightning shots.

Thanks Jonesy and Geoff, yes they are great and not always how you like to get them as i wish the sky would just light up with lots of strikes, but i stood out the back with finger on the button for 15 to 20 mins trying to capture some as i new it was shifting where i could see, so getting this sht was lucky.
Thanks
Well better get my Butt to the track.

A well timed and composed shot John. LOve the exposure and simple effectiveness of the image. The apparent origin of the strikes is sweetly placed with the main arm radiating nicely into the space.
cheers

Great shot John. I lke the fact that there is nothing in the image but the lightning. No streetscape or the like to detract from the power and simplicity of mother nature.
