Decided to try the backpack out and go for a walk.. borrowed a sigma 10-20 from Dug the other day so giving it a workout aswell..

Whoa - these are seriously good. They are all so clear and crisp, and I swear the second one is 3 dimensional! Great work.

You got a gift. I know how difficult it is to move through a landscape and be able to extract beautiful imagery. Well done mate.

thanks for the comments guys.. hard trying to deal with the blown highlights... setting a slow shutter speed to get the milky water gave me hot spots.. not fun when ur trying to get a mountain stream type look

p.s. I think we need to organise a M&G In this area one day.. Waterfall shoot in the arvo.. Critter hunt at night if Rel and Damian are up for it.. just hope the frogs dont end up with flash shock

Lovely shots Zeeke, I (just quietly) joined the 10-20 Sigma club, I kind of joined it last week... but alas got a (Canon Mount ) no the Nikon mount. But tonight I got the right one, and am keen to see how I fair with it! Love new toys!

Terrific set Tim. Shooting in the dappled rainforest light can play havoc with balanced exposure. You have done extremely well. You ability to see photographically is well developed

Very nice Tim. You can almost feel the moisture. BTW where were these taken. Looks familiar to me.

Location is on the sunshine coast... a little mountain stream that is mainly only known by locals..

Great shots, not at Kondallia of Mapleton are they? I will have to find time to take a walk myself and see what i can shoot over the next couple of weeks. The suggestion of a M&G on the sunny coast sounds like a good idea.

I used to think I could take decent photos once, now that i have seen the standard of you, Dug and the others on the forum i think i need a lot of practice.

but some beautiful shots to which i am keen to get outside!

Thanks for the comments Craig.. dunno if my standard is anywhere near as good as Dug's tho... he's been a lazy bugger lately and hasnt shown off any of his latest photos which are pretty darn good

The falls are actually at Buderim... pretty well hidden in the middle of town.. its not widely advertised or spoken about.. alot of locals are scared of the place being wrecked by tourists... but the council does have footpaths all the way through the forest walks and over the waterfalls... (shocking steps at times tho.. they use any old rock as a step.. gotta be a Mountain Goat)

But Iam keen on organising a BBQ there one day.. Theres a bit of everything for everyone there... Waterfalls, Insects, Birds/Animals, People and if people dont like the idea of a BBQ.. there is also a Restaurant only 2mins walk from one of the park's entrances

A BBQ in the area sounds great. If you are going to walk around outdoors its only appropriate to eat outdoors. If iam not working you can count me in.

Tim, the composition in these shots is outstanding and the exposures are spot on. I do find the CA a little distracting and would like to see the first 3 done with that removed, I think it would make these excelelnt shots even better...

I like your use of foreground interests and subjects, and your framing/composition... In most there's a strong aspect of lines and items leading my eye to interesting areas... Particularly in #1, 2, 4, 5, 10... Looks like you've exposed well under awkward lighting conditions too, so well done...
