Hi John,

there's some great action shots there well done.

I like shooting sports myself so I know how difficult it can be.

The first shot makes me want to scream "YOU'RE OUT!!" :) But it does look like he's safe.

Thanks Tony, i get withdrawels if i dont get to use my camera so go looking for something to do. I do go out to the baseball now and then for a look and speedway was cancelled so enjoyed it as these are just a few i took. It was rather late in the afternoon so played with ISO a bit and used between 400 and 800 ISO with the D2X and Sigma 70-200.

Hi John. Great shots there. I took some pics of a baseball match last week. They aren't in the same league as yours. It was late afternoon, so the light wasnt brilliant. I was using the Sigma 70-200. Settings were 400ISO, f4, with a shutter speed ranging from 1/300 to 1/400. I only managed to get the ball in about 6 shots :(

Regards

meicw i went for shutter mode and upped the iso and tried to shoot as high as i could as i wanted to feeze everything as much as i could and well maybe even have the ball to show some movement but not too much. It is hard to get that right moment to cath the ball at times but hell i was having fun so took lots and all were good but this is just a few of the action and late in the afternoon on a dull day as well, got to try these things.
