The subject says it all. Any preference. I can't decide and in fact have decided I like both, but then I'm biased since I took the shot. Getting the B & W right was a real PITA (spent 20 mins vs about 5 for the colour one) and I'm finally happy with the result. Click a pic for a larger version.

I like what you've done with both of them.

Don't make me choose....

Both have terrific appeal, Peter, due to the composition. Either works for me.

(PS - hope the wisdom teeth came out without too much of a struggle..)

for me its the BTW, makes the vine planting pattern stand out more than the coloured version.

Definitely the colour version IMHO.

For me its the colour by a long shot. The B&W is spolit by the "white blotch" towards the top of the photo. Its not that apparent in the colour version. The framing is great.

Glad to hear you're in one piece Peter after your wisdom teeth were pulled!
These are both great images however I prefer the vibrance of the colour one. Thanks for sharing..
I'm going out VERY early tomorrow morning to get some nice beach shots hopefully :).

Looks like colour has the majority.

Thanks for your comments.

Re: the wisdom teeth - either I'm lucky or had a very good surgeon. My upper two came out Friday PM. Since then I haven't taken any pain killers and have only a dull ache. My face is swollen but not bruised (yet). Only real problem is eating.

I guess the votes for B & W here confirm my dilemma with this pic. Thanks for your comments.

I prefer the BW. THe colour looks like a million others, the BW has punch.
