I had an hour to spare on Sunday so I went out to Penrith to have a look at the Olympic white water course and as luck would have it there was an International competition in progress

all of these shots were taken with my Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 which is not long enough so these are all crops
my other problem was I only had access to the outside of the course so I had problems with shadows on the competitors faces
I will have to go back when I have more time and outside the harsh light of midday

It's a great place to photograph kayakers as you can get really close to the action. Totally unlike natural courses. I feel your images are ever-so-slightly overexposed as there is a bit of lost detail in the water.

It's very hard to get the exposure right when it's bright and sunny and there is so much contrast between the subject and the bright white but you have done quite well though.

I really like the first one : the white foamy water in the foreground really puts the difficulty of the sport into perspective. I reckon the water splashing and spraying over the boat and the kayaker again nicely captures the action.
