Two in the tree

I was down at the park this afternoon and noticed these 2 fellas making a noise above me. This is my very first attempt at photographing birds - not that it's my style as I mainly do sports. Mind you I don't really have the right lens for it but this was shot with the 70-300mm ED at f10, 1/400, iso 320, sb600 flash.

Anyway, I suprised myself.

Any tips or comments?

Really like it Bill glad the dof isnt too shallow so you can still enjoy the blue sky in the background .A very sharp shot

It's a nesting hollow Bill - keep an eye on it, and you can have some fledgling shots to go with this one - nicely done :)

Thanks Stephen.

I certainly will keep my eye out Rel. Thanks for your comments. There are about 6 of them scattered all over this tree.

sure does look like a possible nesting hollow.
well worth keeping an eye on.
Whilst we have heaps of lorrikeets around here, I havent seen any nesting pairs.
plenty of photo ops if they nest there.
