I love the dessert but there is a weird horizontal banding going on in the background. Any ideas what causes that?

I can't see it on my monitor Thaddeus - may be caused by higher iso though...

Some great shots Geoff, I'm a little tied up right now, but when I get a chance I'll come back and provide some more indepth feedback.

#1 - OOF right in the front then very narrow DOF - personally I would have got in real close for this shot

#2 - This I like as it shows the action

#3 - This is a superbly composed shot with great OOF detail but would like to have seen the front grapes really sharp - it looks OOF on both of my monitors

#4 - nice leading shot but the in focus area is lost in the overall pic

#5 - love flowers but a tad more saturation would be nice

#6 - Very nice situation shot

#7 - yum, but again would liked to have seen more in focus

#8 - no comment

#9 - no comment

#10 - Mitedo jnr looks ecstatic and I believe he would know how to use the camera

#11 - I like this shot but would crop out the post on the left

#12 - Again I feel as if this shot would have more punch if it had been taken closer

#13 - Excelllent - I can almost taste the sweetness

#14 - would have benefitted from having one bottle out as the main focus with the racks in the background

#15 - I like this shot for the symmetry but if cropped top and bottom to form a pano of just the chairs I believe it would look better

I like number 2....the redness of that liquid....number 3 and the last one...the chairs. All good. Think I'm too tired to do any Pprocessing. What a great weekened! Thanks all and thank you Stubbsy for all of the work you put in.

Hi Geoff,

Said I'd revisit the thread so here I am.

#1 Gives the impression there are thousands and thousands of grapes, I like it but would of pushed for a little more DOF

#2 I really like this shot, while it technically is a little messy, I just love the grape juice surging out and the frothy bubbles.

#3 I like this shot, lovely DOF and for me a real winner. Had I had my spray bottle I would of taken a few like this and then sprayed on some 'morning dew'

#4 I agree with Chris on this one, that while the shot leads you into it, the focus isnt well enough defined leaving me a little lost once I'm there

#5 I like the composition but the colours seem a little washed out to me (perhaps they are true to life) I'd just fiddling with the contrast and saturation levels a little.. but not too much

#6 This shot I look at and I think.. hey it almost...does it... hmmm.. no it doesn't really work... Its close to being abstract but isn't, its close to be intriguing but it just a little too normal to impress me.

#7 This one I like, food in general I like. My nit pick with this one is the shadow on the food, I'd prefer a little light to fill in the detail and make the strawberries 'Pop' on the screen

#8 I like this shot.. leading lines sweeping away from the camera. This shot reminds me of the song ' On the Road to Nowhere', I like it

#9 Doesn't work for me, know enough to keep my interest

#10 I like this one, a nice capture... Boys with their toys! It looks like it's genetic!

#11 Hmmm, again doesn't to much for me..

#12 This one I like more, as its a bit more intimate (or focused on the grapes)

#13 Hmm, don't really like this one

#14 I like this one, would be interested to see a black and white maybe or sepia.. something to 'age' it a little

#15 This one is a stand out, I really like the shapes, the repeatition and the background of the sandstone wall is lovely too!

It was great to catch up and have fun with everyone and mother nature was very kind as well. And thanks to Tyrrells we look to have got some great wine pics if these are anything to go by.

#2 - wow - this is brilliant and puts what I have of this to shame.
#3 - love the colours in this and the masterful use of DOF
#7 - despite the banding, this is a superlative, well lit shot. Even more impressive is that this was shot without the benefit of studio lights etc.
#15 - This is a great example of how compositional choice makes or breaks an image. Your framing here as created a really strong image from what could have been a rather ordinary scene.
