I think that you chose good subjects, but didn't think enough about composition. The first one needs more drama, and looks like it's depending on symmetry, so you need to be meticulous that you stand right in the middle, and perhaps leave a little foreground.
The second needs more drama and less distractions. The light is a tad flat, and the train is not blurred enough. I think that pointing the camera down a little more for more foreground, and the focus is on the front part of the train and the foreground, would have given it that extra something.
The third is almost interesting, but the texture on the wall isn't pronounced, and again, I'm not sure about that angle, and the placement, needs to be more off center.
The fourth is similar. You should have placed yourself exactly parralell facing the sign, so that the top edge runs directly along the upper frame edge. I also would have liked it with a little more room.
The fifth doesn't really work because of the empty space on the left, and the softness of the chain. It's quite soft, and you can't really feel the chain, or the texture of the ground, and the posts are both sort of crowding eachother.
Hope that helps.
