1/250 f8 at 70 mm on kit lens

As is obvious I have a lot to learn in this game so appreciate any advice.
1. how would you set up this shot to capture the mood better - it was midday with no tripod available
2. what PS processing would help create more atmosphere - especially keeping the detail of the shoes in foreground which I lost when I cropped it and changed levels.

it's a nice shot leading lines from the foreground lead to the background and threes obscure the subject hinting more. I suggest sepia treatment, but i must say the colours are lovely, i think this picture has enough mood, sometimes if you remove an image from it's original context too much by changing things the original appeal that you saw at that moment gets lost.

I can't see a reason why this isn't good enough as it is. Sure it may not look like the colours pack a punch, but just the way the legs are sticking out repeatedly throughout the shot makes it rather interesting.

If you want to give it a whirl, try desaturating it so that only a bit of colour is left, but not totally b&w.

This photo has a lot going for it.
I would try a little crop on the right side so as not to get the full body of the man sitting on the bench, in keeping with the mistery theme. That would also take care of that distracting branch in front of his head.

thanks for the positive feedback and suggestions. gives me a bit of confidence that I'm on the right track.
I'll have a go at 'tidying' it up on the w/e and re post later - this !@*## dial up is a PITA.

I'm not sure how it would have looked, but I would have tried taking a step to the left and getting a bit lower and turning the camera to landscape.
You might have got a bit too much of the guy with the book, but you might have been able to see a bit more of the other people.

I think this a quite a cool capture.
People are sitting on benches and their feet are sticking out.
I think his is an interesting shot.
Different people are doing similar things ?
Similarity amongst the different ?
I'd probably would have cropped the image so that the first person also, like rest is anonymous (or inkognito).

I probably would have tried this shot lying flat on my belly as well.... and get a few strange looks

This is a really interesting shot and shows a good creative eye...

All I'd do is clone some of the dark greenery on the right side edge over the guy you can clearly see, cloen out the person in the background, and maybe select all the legs and adjust their levels etc to make 'em stand out a bit more... Or maybe select all but the legs and de-sat a little to lessen the strength of the greenery maybe? Just a thought
