I took this a while ago at customs house and I just can't make my mind up about it.
Does it work?

Matt this most certainly works. Any adjustments would simply be refinements to a great photo. IMO cropping the last join in the glass floor at the bottom of the image allows the lines leading to the gentleman to play a more critical role in the composition. For the sake of refining the balance cropping just a tad off the left side to match the right, using as a reference the corner joins in both the bottom left and right of the image. I'm not sure but i believe the women (certainly the closest woman, backgound lady i believe to be superflous), add the necessary counterbalance to the stairwell on the right margin. However part of me is left wondering how different may have been with just the central figure. Cloning out might reveal that I certainly think with your eye it would well be worth another visit to explore other options on this theme

Of course it bloody works Matt. Superb shot. Lots to look at without being busy and my first thought was it's another self portrait, but for the life of me I can't see how that could be you in the centre.

Matt - brilliant shot (again)....there are a whole heap of things that appeal to me about this shot..I think the fact that it ooozes modernism and a 'sign of the times', looking back at this shot in say 50-60years will be interesting - not only to see how internal architecture has changed/evovled but also fashion..perhaps what they are wearing will be right back in 'fashion'. Love your work mate!

This is exactly what I was thinking myself. I like the colours and the symmetry and the bloke in the middle, and the general cleanliness of the shot, but I'm wondering myself if there is just too much distraction in it.

It's a good thing that as humans we see things differently - I really like this shot because it has so much happening in it

my first reactions were that you got the exposure right.
other than that it is quite a busy shot which has no subject per se.


having said said that, you have generated around 50-50 like it/dont ratio which suggests that you have probably achieved what you intended when you shot it.
