Hello all

In early Jan I had the privilege of being a guest aboard a 270m bulk carrier as it entered Gladstone Harbour.

Here are some shots of the action:

The tugs spin the ship beofre final positioning.

Image PS I know many of my horizons are not straight!

One of the tugs pictured here was involved in an acident last week - punched a hole in the side of ship resulting in an oil spill....

Cheers

Nice series of shots, I would of liked to see more from the chopper if you have some. I was doing some shooting aboard a small vessel last week and found it was surprisingly tricky to get horizons straight when it was underway and heading into a bit of a chop. Maybe I just need to work on my hand hold technique a little more :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

This was a great experience and the highlight of the year so far for me.

Alpha_7 : the chopper ride was at dawn and the light was not good - I didn't think the pilot would appreciate me firing off my SB600 right next to him to light up the cockpit

The landing was pretty quick and I had other things to think about and so the frames that I snapped off were pretty lousy. By the time I was off the helepad and thinking about getting a shot - the chopper was in the air and climbing away!

Cheers
