Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Dee - this is a great shot.
Wendell has suggested you sell it to Nike - I think this is a great idea.
I can see this enlarged in a Nike type shop. You've nailed this one - well done!

Well done dee - a quick idea from me - the photo might display a little better (light on light) if you put a dark pencil thin border around it, im loosing the photo in the background on this site.

Dee - nicely composed shot but if I may make a few observations:

The angled Nike has good colour saturation but the lighting has produced one of those so called hotspots that is disconcerting.

The left hand Nike is problematical - the OOF action is at the front of the shoe and should be towards the rear, if at all. The lighting on this Nike is uneven and again has produced a hotspot. The main area of critique is the area around the laces - there is no definition, just a complex area of black.

Composition - excellent :)

I'd be happy if this where one of mine.

But would like a little more DOF to bring the front into focus, and the lighting re arranged to get rid of the "hot spots". A little more definition in the lace areas and the Nike swish would be good.

Having said that, I know that the image can sometimes lack detail in those dark areas in the posting, but can look ok in the original.

Awesome shot Dee,

Once again as mentioned above - you have to talk to Nike about this. It certainly is well composed and taken, sharp as this one :D

Nice one flipfrog. Just to add on to Chris' comments about the uneven lighting, yeah the darker area on the side near the top of the left shoe detracts from the image a little. Maybe you could try another light source or a light tent.
