I actually really like the 1st and 3rd.
I feel the 2nd is too blurry.
Your kids, Jethro?

jethro - to sound sophisticated you could call the blown highlights look "high key". And then they'll be good pics.
The second one... the sharpest portion of the pic seems to be... ummm well, I won't say - pending the answer to "are these your kids" question.

I agree that the blurriness detracts from the 2nd shot, but these three are a great start, and I'd be keen to see more.

Definately 2 of my 3 sibs. I was going to say Hi key but wasn't sure. Yeah number 2 is a bit of a fizzer. I liked the composition though.. Thanks for the opinions

At the risk of being boring - #1 and #3 are the pick
At the risk of being pedantic - if they are sibs (short for siblings) it means brother or sister. I suspect these are in fact your kids

Hi Jethro,
the 1st one has character
2nd just too blurry
3rd the boy's eyes seem very strange at that angle of shot and as a result doesn't work for me.
I'd suggest converting to B/W and see what you get there, it may be just the colours being a little distracting.

#2 is fantastic - the OOF actually gives this pic a glossy magazine look and we must always remember that women prefer to be out of focus not to show their defects.

jetho, I think number one is a huge winner. I have seen this face many a time from my kids. I love the intensity in the eyes.
Not sure about the mono post. IMHO I think that the right eye needs to be in focus.

Nice work Jethro. They are all good and I do like the OOF effect on number 2. Very nice.
