Normally I'm fairly certain of which images have come out well, but with these two I'm really ambivalent. Sometimes they look great, other times not. I'd be interested in your views. I have a thick skin so if they're shit you can say so As usual, to see a larger version click the pic.

In this one I'd have been happier if I'd captured more to the right of the tree



In this one I'm unsure if the foreground adds to or subtracts from the image

I'm afraid these do nothing for me. The first one seems to complicated for my eye - too much going on.
The second I find the foreground far too distracting.

I'm just off to have a look at your others you have posted - not been that active the past wek.

sorry peter, these do nothing for me either.

I often use ask the question of "can I imagine it up on the wall?"
in this case, no.
the first one just seems overall too busy

The second one doesnt feel like there is a particular subject.

perhaps with a solitary tree, but with the grass etc there doesnt seem to be anywhere that I should be looking.

Peter - these are the kind of photos (I take them too) that need to be archived and looked at privately

i think the first one has an interesting colour set which is nice but in terms of composition i don't think you can salvage it, i see what you were tryign to do with the framign though, but to get that right you should of shot it directly in front of it so you get a more dramatic perspective

the 2nd one is fine, the only thing that detracts is the colour saturation of the blue, it looks unreal, maybe down that a little and the pic will meet your standards. Foreground elements don't take away from the background if anything the scene looks more intimate and interestign because the view if of one almost peering through which creates drama

if undecided, it is still worth posting here.

I remember being undecided about the waterfall pano I shot a while ago,
I was ready to bin it because of the dark on the left, but my partner said she liked it and I posted it for opionion here.

Everyone told me that the dark offset the water on the other side and they liked it. So I finished up printing up a a3 plus one and it looks amazing. So I am sure glad I didnt delete it.

so I would still ask others if undecided. may save whacking a shot with potential. Besides if it is crap, people will say so and at least you will be certain!!

I sat back and really looked at the second picture.... and i love it...

Its like your coming out of a dark part of your life...and seeing the light ahead.... A paradise if you will.....

Thats my interpretation of the picture anyway..... and i would have it on my wall anytime
