The advantage of a dark sky

This is one advantage of not living in the city centre..

Now, any of you can do this if your sky is dark enough...all the info on the photo, however if you go much longer than 20 seconds, you will start to get star trailing...

Looking foward to this weekend - going to Arkaroola which is a very dark sky..

Wow! What a sky! The number of visible stars is great, exposure is good especially for 1600 iso

(going in that direction for a few nights)

Great capture - I just can't get sick of these great star pics! If anything though, I think it may be a little over exposed!

ahhh, the sky as it should be.

shame man has made so many lights that spoil views like this from the city

Great image illustrating why you need to get out west. Lovely image Big V. Can't wait for Easter myself, Sheepie :wink:

This image was taken 35km from Adelaide,showing that you do not have to go to far for dark skies and that Adelaide is not as big as Sydney...
