The USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) arrived in Brisbane for a scheduled port visit. While in port, the Carrier Strike Group's approximately 6000 crewmembers will have a chance to participate in friendship-building and goodwill-generating activities.

The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group, commanded by Rear Adm. Michael H. Miller, is on a routine deployment and homeported in San Diego, California.

Operating in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, the U.S. Seventh Fleet is the largest of the forward-deployed U.S. fleets, with approximately 50 ships, 120 aircraft, and 20000 Sailors and Marines assigned at any given time.

firstly great pics!

secondly im surprised you could get on the ship with a camera!

thirdly it's a stark contrast seeing real people doing real jobs comapred to seeing movies.

thanks Chris... I wasn't aware about the maiden voyage until I was told by the Admiral.. which made the day even more special for me... an absolute priviledge to get a tiny insight into their work.

no.. only stop is Brisbane and then she moves off again.

That first shot is superb. A wonderful natural capture. Only (tiny) niggle is you've chopped off the girls elbows.

#1 and #4 are fantastic shots and my favourite in this series.
I like the pose in the first and am a little more forgiving about elbows

And think #4 has a very certain quality about it... maybe like little old war movie meets propaganda machine...

or maybe it's, here is me so proud of my new boat... check it out, that's it behind me.
